First of all, what’s your earliest memory of fashion?
I grew up watching soccer matches more than flipping through fashion magazines. My first contact with this world was through some of my mother’s modeling photos, taken in the 1980s for local brands between Padua and Venice. They were stunning; I looked at them, and such a naturalness and spontaneity shone through them that it was impossible not to be fascinated.

You’re originally from Portogruaro, in the province of Venice. What do you always carry with you from the landscapes of your childhood?
Crossed by a river and founded as an ancient Roman city, Concordia is a truly picturesque and livable little town. I grew up being able to move around completely independently, from an early age, crossing the Veneto countryside by bike or on foot to reach friends, school, and the parish. I carry with me the image of the endless fields, the silence, the freedom, and the safety of those places, along with the ability to quickly reach both seaside and mountain resorts. One of the things I miss most is the ability to wake up on Sunday mornings and decide whether to explore a new peak or be by the sea at the same time that you could cross Paris from one end of the city to the other.

That said, what’s one piece of clothing or accessory that best represents your teenage years?
A tracksuit, so to speak? Although I must admit that at a certain point, a pair of extremely uncomfortable skinny jeans made their first appearance in my closet. Paired with a sweatshirt, sneakers, and a ponytail, they’ve become a staple of my everyday wardrobe.

In 2022, you made your runway debut, walking for Saint Laurent. Who was the first person you called when you found out you’d been chosen for the French fashion house’s Spring/Summer 2023 show?
At the time, I hadn’t told anyone about this incredible opportunity (I’m a bit superstitious, I admit), but I’ve always had a great relationship with my mother and I’ve never been able to keep anything from her. So she was the first person I called to tell her I’d be walking in front of the Eiffel Tower in sky-high heels for one of the French capital’s most famous brands.

Paris is the city you’ve come to know and love thanks to your work as a model. What’s your favorite place in the City of Light?
There are many, discovered over the years, but two were the first iconic places of my first stay in Paris. First, the Pont des Arts, which I crossed every morning and every evening on foot to get to the atelier for over a year. I saw it in rain, snow, and sun, at sunset and sunrise, and I ran across it, happy, worried, angry, tired, grateful. It was a constant, like the gardens of the Basilique du Sacré-Coeur in Montmartre, which I would reach every Sunday, crossing the city on foot, to have lunch lying on the grass, listening to the songs of some street artist and enjoying the view of the city.

In your past, there’s volleyball. What did this sport teach you? Do you think it allows you to have greater awareness of your body?
I’ve tried so many sports, each of them has given me a lot, but at the time, volleyball won me over. From it, I learned to never give up on a goal and how much sacrifice it takes to achieve it. Let’s say it definitely made me even more stubborn than a Capricorn already is (I started from a good foundation). From a physical standpoint, it was fundamental because it allowed me to develop my skinny, six-foot-two body in a harmonious and balanced way, also in terms of muscle and structure.

Returning to fashion, what has been the most impactful encounter since you entered this world?
I can’t speak for one person in particular, but rather for the entire team at the YSL atelier. It was impactful, surprising, and, in some ways, shocking to discover the dynamics of how such a large fashion house operates. Each of them helped open my eyes to a new world of dedication, beauty, sacrifice, commitment, and passion.

Perhaps not everyone knows that you have a degree in Archaeology. Looking to the future, would you like to pursue a career in modeling or pursue a career closer to your studies?
I will definitely continue my modeling career; I still have a lot to contribute to this world. When it ends, I will resume my studies, but in the field of environmental sustainability and the green economy, which is now one of my main interests.I will always carry archaeology with me. In another life, I would have liked to dedicate my life to this, but in today’s world, I see more important challenges that need to be addressed.

If you could change one thing about the fashion industry, what would it be and why?
I would pay more attention to the mental and physical well-being of those who work in this industry, who are all too often subjected to rather stressful work schedules. From my perspective as a model, if we could provide psychological and nutritional support to us girls (especially the younger ones), we could try to meet the market’s demands in a more effective and healthy way.

To conclude, what will you do as soon as you’ve finished answering these questions?
I’m currently in New York. It’s fall, the days are gorgeous, and the weather is still really pleasant.I admit, I couldn’t feel luckier. I’ll be meeting some friends by the ocean, and it’ll be nice to feel that salty summer air again.
