What did you want to be as a kid?
I once made a map during school detention. It was a pretty detailed map of a country, with rivers, and towns, and cities. At that moment I felt a longing to run a country, because at the age of 10, I believed that I could do better than other world leaders. After realising the magnitude of it, I shifted to be a psychiatrist, eventually that turned into a philosopher.
Who did you look up to growing up?
Strangely enough, I didn’t really look up to anyone in particular when I was growing up. My world felt quite small until a certain age. If I had to choose someone, it would be my family. My siblings and I have large age gaps, so they were often ahead of me in life. Sometimes they’d do things or explain things that really intrigued me—and I knew I wanted to experience those things myself one day, in my own way.

Do you believe in destiny?
Not necessarily. I believe destiny should be realised and taken. We’re the own directors of our own world. Create your own destiny.
What’s the best-kept secret in fashion?
Nothing is a secret in fashion.

Do you have a signature scent?
Cocoa butter.

What’s your least favourite food?
I greatly dislike coriander, anise (liquorice), shrimps and mayonnaise. There is no dish I won’t eat though. Even the disliked selection, I still manage to eat. My parents didn’t raise quitters.
What’s your favourite song?
‘Tron Song’ by Thundercat, an ode to his cat. Everything about this song is amazing, 12 years later I still hold the same thoughts. Unfortunately, it’s short.
