Description

The starting point and the destination are never what truly defines a journey. They are simply its outeVarigraficaresholds that frame a path that is long, irregular and unpredictable. Along the way, anything can happen: routes shift without warning, and the obstacles we meet, teach us that sometimes the most necessary act is to pause, to look back at the ground we’ve covered with a different gaze. Yet it is the unexpected moments of clarity, the openings, the encounters, that ultimately move us forward. From this idea comes The Greatest #29 – The Journeying Issue. For this chapter The Greatest traces an abstract itinerary whose purpose is not arrival, but transformation. A journey shaped by Miguel Castro Freitas, who reimagines sensuality as a space of nuance; Burç Akyol, who turns dual heritage into creative direction; Luca Benini, who followed intuition before streetwear found its definition; John Sharp, who begins every project by listening to the sound of a place; David Flack, for whom design is a form of belonging; Claudio Stecchi, who has learnt to rise through resilience; and Russell Tovey, featured in one of the eight covers, whose roles mirror the shifts of his own path. Their trajectories explore the many facets of this theme, like the courage to move and the freedom to change direction. And so, page after page, this issue becomes a place to pause, to reflect and to begin again.
